Mobile utilities studio

Phones deserve
better tools.

We are a small, focused studio that designs and ships mobile utilities — the kind that do one thing well and stay out of the way.

How we work.

01

Research

We start by understanding the category — what already exists, where it falls short, and what a focused user actually needs. No assumptions, no feature lists inherited from competitors.

02

Design

Every screen is considered from first principles. We aim for interfaces that feel obvious in hindsight — minimal chrome, clear hierarchy, nothing decorative that doesn't earn its place.

03

Ship

We build to release, not to prototype. When something leaves our hands it is stable, tested, and ready for real use. Iteration follows from real feedback, not internal speculation.

Working
principles.

Remote-first, async by default.

We do not operate from a single office or timezone. Work happens in writing, decisions are documented, and nothing important lives only in someone's head. This keeps the studio lean and the output consistent regardless of where or when the work gets done.

Focus over breadth.

We take on fewer things so we can do them properly. A studio that chases every category ends up owning none of them. We choose the categories we understand, build within them deliberately, and resist the pull toward expansion for its own sake.

Craft is the product.

The quality of the experience is not a feature — it is the whole point. An app that works reliably, loads quickly, and asks nothing unnecessary of its user is a finished thing. We aim for that standard on every release, not as a differentiator but as a baseline.

What we don't do.

01

We do not build apps that monetise attention — no feeds, no push-notification loops, no engagement mechanics designed to keep users inside.

02

We do not take on projects where the business model depends on harvesting or reselling user data in any form.

03

We do not promise timelines we cannot hold, or scope we have not properly understood. Honest estimates, even when they are longer than expected.

04

We do not maintain a public portfolio of released work. What we ship belongs to the category, not to our reputation.

Questions.

We work with partners on a case-by-case basis. If you have a category in mind and want to explore what a collaboration might look like, the best starting point is a direct conversation. We do not have a standard partnership programme.

Apps we build are published under our own accounts or under arrangements agreed with partners before work begins. We do not publish under client accounts without a clear agreement in place. The specifics depend on the nature of the engagement.

It depends on the scope and the category. A focused single-function utility takes less time than a multi-feature app with complex permissions handling. We aim to give honest estimates early and flag changes as soon as we see them — not at the end.

Ownership is agreed before work starts and documented clearly. We do not assume ownership of work built to a partner's brief, and we do not transfer ownership of internal tools or shared infrastructure. Everything is explicit.

We aim to remain available for maintenance and updates on work we have shipped. The terms depend on the engagement. We do not offer open-ended support contracts by default, but we do not disappear after release either.
